I am so excited to share that my new book Limerence: The Psychopathology of Loving Too Much is now available for preorder. This book, to be published by Routledge in December 2025, is one of the first in-depth explorations of limerence, the psychological state often described as obsessive love, relationship obsession, or a form of emotional dependency that can take over someone’s mind and life.

Limerence is more than just attraction. It is an overwhelming experience of intrusive thoughts, intense longing, and emotional highs and lows that can feel impossible to escape. Many people caught in limerence describe feeling consumed by obsessive thoughts about someone, unable to focus on work, relationships, or daily life. What looks like romance on the surface is often closer to compulsion and addiction, leaving people stuck in cycles of uncertainty, anxiety, and longing.

In this book, I bring together psychology, neuroscience, and clinical practice to shed light on why limerence happens and how it affects the mind and body. I explore how social media and digital communication have intensified these experiences, and I weave in case studies, cultural perspectives, and therapeutic tools for both clinicians and individuals. Whether you are a therapist wanting to understand limerence in your clients or someone who has struggled with obsessive love yourself, the book offers frameworks for making sense of the experience and pathways for healing.

Preordering is a powerful way to support the book’s release, helping it reach more readers who may be searching for answers to the pain of limerence and relationship obsession. It also means you will be among the very first to receive a copy as soon as it is available.

Limerence: The Psychopathology of Loving Too Much is written for therapists, students of psychology, and anyone who wants to understand the complexities of obsessive love. At its heart, the book is about compassion: recognising that limerence is not weakness or failure, but a deeply complex psychological state that deserves understanding and care.

Preorders are now live and can be placed through Booktopia and other major booksellers. I hope this book offers clarity, healing, and support for those navigating the painful intensity of limerence and the path back toward emotional freedom.
